Repost from 25 September 2017 • Braving Ruin • How Individualism Ate Itself •The "New Individualism" of today is a far cry from the "Old Individualism" fetishized by so-called "classical liberals." Elevation of "the Self" as the sole relevant force in politics, culture, and society has acted as a subversive element against the cohesion of these realms. If all that exists is The Individual, then there is no Society. There are many more details I want to highlight and many more points I want to make. Still, this video's purpose was to summarize what I took away from the documentary, not as a comprehensive review of the entire series.
