وقال ابن حجر العسقلاني، المُتَوَفَّى 852 هـ، فِي كِتَابِهِ (فتح الباري)، “وَقَالَ النَّوَوِيُّ وَغَيْرُهُ أَجْمَعُوا عَلَى انْعِقَادِ الْخِلَافَةِ بِالِاسْتِخْلَافِ وَعَلَى انْعِقَادِهَا بِعَقْدِ أَهْلِ الْحَلِّ وَالْعَقْدِ لِإِنْسَانٍ حَيْثُ لَا يَكُونُ هُنَاكَ اسْتِخْلَافٌ غَيْرَهُ.”

Ibn Hajar Al Asqalani, who died in 852 AH, said in “Fath al-Bari,” that, “Al-Nawawi and others said, they (the Ulema) agreed unanimously that a single Khaleefah must be appointed, one after another. His appointment must be made by those charged with authority (ahl ul hal wal ‘aqd). There must be only one Khaleefah, with none other appointed in addition to him.”

ابنِ حجر العسقلانی (سنِ وفات 852 ہجری) اپنی کتاب )فتح الباري( میں کہتے ہیں، “النوَوی اور دیگر (علماء) کا، ایک کے بعد دوسرے کی خلافت کے انعقاد پر اتفاق ہے اور اس بات پر بھی اتفاق ہے کہ اہل حل و عقد ایک شخص کی تقرری (بطورِ خلیفہ) ایسے انداز میں کریں کہ کوئی دوسرا شخص صاحبِ خلافت نہ ہو۔”
