We Should Not Use Old Testament Moral Failures for Fallen Leaders and Church Scandals in the New Testament Church. Many times people use Old Testament example of fallen leaders like King David and Samson. We do not see this pattern of moral failures from leadership in the New Testament Church. Now Peter did deny Christ but i consider that a lack of courage to stand firm not a moral failure. But we are held to might higher standards in the New Testament church. Leaders are called to live above reproach (1 Timothy 3). And leaders will be judged much more harshly (James 3:1).
