Jeremiah 50 "Babylon Has Fallen" 9/29/2024

Jeremiah was God's voice to the nations… God plucks up some, breaks down some, destroys some, and overthrows others…and He even builds and plants some.
Tonight, we will look at the overthrow of Babylon… which has a near prophecy and a far-reaching prophecy of the destruction of Babylon that has yet to happen.
We have seen much of this in the Book of Jeremiah and will see it again in the prophecy about Babylon.
Nebuchadnezzar was God’s servant…Babylon was the nation to the north of Judah that would bring destruction upon them.
Nebuchadnezzar had gone too far in his cruelty toward God's people and his destruction of God’s temple and lands.
And now Babylon will face judgment from a nation to their north.
As we go through this judgment on Babylon, I want you to know that there is a Spiritual Babylon, Commercial Babylon, and a real Babylon.
Spiritual Babylon represents a man-centered religion based on the traditions and authority of men rather than God.
Commercial Babylon represents the world system.
The real Babylon is in the land of Shinar, which is modern-day Iraq.
