Video Chat Apps | Let's replace Zoom with more privacy minded apps

Android, iPhone, Desktop, no matter. Let's use something that is actually privacy respecting, if not outright fully encrypted, rather than Zoom!

Zoom hoovers up everything including the content of your video sessions, as well as all of the metadata (your IP address, operating system and system architecture, date/timestamp, etc)

While Jitsi Meet is a favorite, they have turned to only big tech logins for free accounts, however you can self host the non-big tech sign in version yourself if you are so skilled. However, for most folks, Signal, Jami and Brave Talk should get the job done for you. Element, Wire and others offer more features also for free that are worth exploring to see if they suit your needs.
