Known for its use in iconic video games like Grand Theft Auto, and immortalized in '90s rap by legends like 2Pac, Dr. Dre, and N.W.A., the TEC-9 became a symbol of urban rebellion. Yet before this firearm earned its controversial reputation, it made its Hollywood debut in the cult classic Big Trouble in Little China. In today’s episode, I’ll explore how the TEC-9 found its way into the hands of Jack Burton (played by Kurt Russell) and how this once military-designed machine pistol became synonymous with street crime and pop culture.
