Another incredibly interesting thing is that (SPOILERS FOR MGSV, STOP, STOP!!!!) Big Boss, in MGSV (not 5, V! The Last game in the series!), is actually replaced by an imposter to handle his operations on the ground, in Outer Heaven. I. e., he is setting up a Satanic control network on the ground, on Earth, under a person who is a false representation of himself. Like, oh, I don't know—the Controllers.

Also, to blow your mind a little bit more, the anti-Christ figure of Solid Snake, in this hierarchy, is rapidly aging because of his Big Boss (Satan) genes. In the Biblical sense of being an inversion of Jesus, this could be seen as Solid Snake being a mortal, and thus, whereas Big Boss has a long lifespan, or a normal one, Solid Snake has the decay that you see in Genesis when people start having shorter and shorter lifespans.

Finally, finishing it out, Raiden—the man, not the half-Satan of Solid, or the Satan of Big Boss—sacrifices himself, in MGS4, to save Solid Snake, which though not fatal, I think, ultimately bears resemblance to the martyrs to Jesus. And Snake is destined to die, anyway.
