An airstrike hit dangerously close to our family in Al Zawaydah as they were cooking today’s hot meal to feed 350 families. They ran for their lives in panic and confusion after hearing the explosion, terrified and unsure of what was happening. Our photographer, while filming the food, accidentally captured the bomb on camera, and you can even hear him reciting his last rites in fear. This can’t become the new normal, though far worse has happened before in Gaza. Al Zawaydah was supposed to be a safe zone—clearly, it is not.
