What are the consequences of labeling certain groups with the word "sect" or "cult"?

These are words that are currently being used as social weapons - destroying the lives of individuals, families and entire groups, just as they did in the period of Nazi Germany. Denigration with the word "sect" leads to discrimination, hatred, and, ultimately, to genocide.

On the contrary, mutual respect, pluralism of opinion and religious diversity are crucial for democracy itself, for the realisation of democratic values and for ensuring freedom.
