9.10.2024 Welcome to Kuranda

10:41am and the first groups of visitors to Kuranda for the day are meandering up from the station and this is what they saw as they walked past the Kuranda Arts Co-op on the corner of one of our busiest intersections on their way into the village - an overgrown, weed infested garden bed that is full of empty cans, goon bags and assorted other rubbish.
We challenge you to find a garden bed on the main street of ANY other community in the Mareeba Shire that looks this bad.
We also challenge you to find ANY other community in the Mareeba Shire, with a population of over 5000 people, that has virtually NO POLICE PRESENCE - which allows a minority of the minority to use our village as their own personal outdoor bar and rubbish tip.
100,000's of visitors to our 'Village in the Rainforest' walk past these garden beds every year.
How embarrassing for us Kuranda.
