Watch as this caiman swoops in and steals a kill from a school of hungry piranhas.
The unlucky victim, a Brazilian peacock bass, is a fierce predator in its own right, known for ambushing smaller fish and crustaceans. However, in the Amazon River Basin, even top predators aren't safe. The caiman, an apex predator with a bite force of 500 psi, effortlessly snatched the bass, juggling and softening it before gulping it down whole.
The Amazon is a place where survival is never guaranteed, and just about every creature, no matter how powerful, is just one step away from becoming food for something else
