Luke's old girlfriend, budding country singer Candy Dix, is targeted by her abusive manager, Eddie Lee, who wants to kill her so he can collect a $75,000 insurance payment. When Luke offers to protect Candy, Eddie Lee - himself trying to run from a bookie, to whom he owes $100,000 in gambling debts - approaches Boss and Rosco to have the Dukes arrested for kidnapping.
