A large study involving almost 8,000,000 people exposed (or not) to various antibiotics, then evaluated for incidence of cancers took place in 2019. As I have been teaching you for many years, antibiotics increase the risk of various cancers by between 18-30%. This article dovetails perfectly with a new article in the New England Journal of Medicine, entitled The Failing U.S. Health System. With both important articles in mind, on Friday from 11-Noon Central Time you and I will evaluate an important sentence in the latter article; “What is the future of a country that allows an untold number of its people to suffer and die unnecessarily because of lack of access to basic health services, inadequate public health measures, and a tattered health net?”.
