A $400 car looks like…..Sight unseen deal closed with the words “It has two doors.” Sucker=Me

It was actually $300 in cash and a $100 Lowe’s gift card.

Friend called me up as they were heading down I-85 and were getting close to my exit. Owner was frustrated and was taking the car to the crusher. Told me it was a Plymouth Cranbrook. Hasn’t been on the road and been parked since 1969. Said it was solid with only surface rust. Car was under cover and dry. When moved to open elements, all the paint simply flaked off. I asked how many doors…he said two, but it comes with at least four. Curious….I agreed…and probably paid too much and saved them a couple of hours.

It’s been inside ever since. Butt ugly rear window slope. Front end and body is indeed solid. Trunk has issues as an ancient bag of potting soil ate through the metal. Was a nice green color. Have not gone through the interior….there are a lot of extra parts. Some not for this car. Anyway, this video is from several years ago. Found it while digital cleaning.

Sawzall the roof, coat it with line-x, and slap a modern drivetrain in it and it might be worth as much as the drivetrain.
