10 plants that are toxic to pets.
Hello, everyone! Welcome to our channel! In today's video, we're going to talk about 10 plants that are toxic to your pet.
Having a dog is like having a friend who is always up for adventures, even if the day's adventure is simply rummaging through the yard. But if you have a curious furry friend, you need to be careful about what he's sniffing and, especially, chewing. There are many seemingly harmless plants that can be dangerous, or even deadly, for your dog. Here's a list of 10 toxic plants that every dog owner should know about because keeping our companions safe is our top priority, right?
Number 1: Peace lily, it looks pretty in the corner of the living room, but peace lily contains calcium oxalates, which can cause mouth irritation, excessive drooling, and difficulty swallowing. No peace if your dog decides to chew it! Number 2: Snake Plant, The name gives you a clue: neither you nor your dog should go near this plant. It contains toxic substances that can cause burns in the mouth, vomiting and swelling. It is best to keep your distance.
Number 3: Snake Plant, with its rigid and sharp leaves, the snake plant can not only hurt physically, but also cause nausea and vomiting in dogs. Snake Plant may protect the house, but not your furry friend's stomach.
Number 4: Azalea, the flowers are beautiful, but if your dog takes a bite, prepare for a veterinary emergency. Azalea can cause vomiting, diarrhea and even heart problems.
Number 5: Oleander, another garden villain! Oleander is extremely toxic and can cause serious heart problems, as well as vomiting and weakness. It is one of those plants that you do not want around. Number 6: Adam's rib, although it is a trendy plant, the Adam's rib contains oxalate crystals that can irritate your dog's mouth and digestive system. And let's face it, a fad that can harm Marley is not worth it.
Number 7: Hydrangea, it beautifies any garden, but the leaves and flowers of the hydrangea contain cyanide, which can be dangerous if ingested. We don't want something so romantic like that to put our dogs at risk, right?
Number 8: Tulip, The tulip, especially the bulb, is toxic and can cause symptoms ranging from nausea to breathing difficulties. If Marley were here, he would have already tried to dig up one of these bulbs and made the situation a problem.
Number 9: Calla lily, the leaves and flowers contain substances that irritate the mouth, causing pain and swelling. Seeing your furry friend suffering from mouth pain is no fun at all, so it's best to keep them out of reach. Number 10: Cyclamen, these delicate flowers hide a danger for your dog. Ingestion can cause intense vomiting and, in large quantities, even convulsions. Definitely a plant that should be kept away from the yard.
