Bible Chapter - Isaiah 6

Isaiah chapter 6 is a significant chapter in the Bible where the prophet Isaiah describes his vision of the Lord and his calling to be a prophet.

1. Vision of the Lord: Isaiah sees the Lord seated on a high and exalted throne, with the train of His robe filling the temple. Seraphim, angelic beings with six wings, are present, proclaiming, "Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty; the whole earth is full of his glory".

2. Isaiah’s Reaction: Overwhelmed by the vision, Isaiah feels unworthy and exclaims, "Woe to me! I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips".

3. Cleansing and Commissioning: One of the seraphim touches Isaiah’s lips with a live coal from the altar, symbolizing the removal of his guilt and sin. Then, Isaiah hears the Lord asking, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” Isaiah responds, "Here am I. Send me!".

4. Message to the People: God instructs Isaiah to deliver a message to the people of Israel, warning them of their hardened hearts and impending judgment. Despite the people’s resistance, Isaiah is to continue his mission until the land is devastated.

This chapter highlights themes of divine holiness, human sinfulness, and the call to prophetic ministry. It’s a powerful depiction of Isaiah’s transformation and dedication to God’s mission.
