This will give them aid to relocate and Florida can redevelop these areas into natural areas / wildlife habitat. This will provide needed state land for recreation and buffers to coastal and river waterways. This will also improve water quality.

We need to rethink housing, affordable or otherwise, in the US. No future house built in Florida, especially in coastal areas, from 2024 on, should not be hurricane proof. They should also be built on lifted / on pilings to raise them up higher over sea level. Modular and manufactured homes should become much more common. This will bring the outrageous / unaffordable insurance rates under control.

Geological surveys need to be done prior to / before any more houses can be built / rebuilt in the Appalachian mountains. We should no longer allow housing where mountain slides can kill thousands.
