In Loving Memory of 'Baebae'

When I brought her to the vet, she was scared, and I was informed that I couldn't be with her due to an emergency surgery. They promised to call me when she was ready for pickup. After waiting for about an hour and a half, I received a call asking for permission to perform X-rays. I agreed, but after another hour and a half, I was told to come get her. Tragically, she passed away on the way back, and from the description of her final moments, it seems she suffered. I deeply regret not being by her side to comfort her until the end.

Baebae was a true companion, a golden retriever with wings, who always sought my love and affection. She would often jump onto my lap when I sat outside with her, wanting to be petted for hours. Unfortunately, she developed health issues that caused fluids to build up inside her, ultimately leading to her suffocation. Despite my efforts to maintain a clean environment and provide her with a nutritious diet of fruits, vegetables, and filtered water, it seems that she may have suffered from malabsorption due to bullying from the other hens, which prevented her from eating enough. I believe the stress from her companions compromised her immune system.

Losing Baebae has been one of the toughest experiences I've faced in nearly a decade. The veterinarian placed her in a casing bag so I could bring her home for burial. As I walked to my car, I sat down and cradled that bag, holding onto the memories of our time together.
