The mark of the beast is the most widely rec­ognized Bible prophecy. It has been the subject of numerous popular movies, books, and legends for a long time. Some questions that come to mind like: What role does technology play in discussions about the mark of the beast and its implementation? Or, What does the Bible say about the mark of the beast and its significance in the end times?

Interestingly some people's fear of being somehow coerced to receive the dreaded "mark of 666" is more myth than anything else. The Bible never says 666 is the mark of the beast, which is a deceptive tool that enforces fear-based decision-making. Satan uses diversion by leading people to look for something the Bible doesn't predict so they don't see the real attack. So in today's lesson, Gary, Dee, and Christy will clarify some of the misconceptions about the mark of the beast and address the historical and biblical truth about what the mark is and why its important to understand "that they could not buy or sell unless they had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of its name." rev.13:17, and not 666, even though the "number of his name" is still very important.
