The Children of God (COG), were originally named Teens For Christ in 1968 after gaining popularity they changed the name to COG they were also called The Family of Love which was shortened to just the family now known as "The Family International," which is a little close to Mason’s name. The Family is a controversial new religious movement that originated in the late 1960s. It was founded by David Berg, also known as "Moses David" or "Father David." The group is notorious for its radical beliefs, authoritarian control, and allegations of abuse.
