State spokesperson says ‘Hamas needs to stop hiding behind human shields’ after hospital bombing

“How many more patients [need to be] burned alive by US bombs until the US says enough?”

In a recent press briefing, reporter Prem Thakker asked State Department spokesperson Mathew Miller how many more civilians must die in Israel’s war on Gaza before the US reconsiders its policy. This comes after 19-year-old Shaban al-Dalou was burned alive in his tent following an Israeli air strike on al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital early on Monday.

“Israel needs to do more to minimise civilian harm. Hamas needs to stop hiding behind human shields. Both of those things can be true. Both of those things are true,” Miller said.
