The Apprentice is Captivating and Cliched

Well it's a film which courted controversy and failed to capitalise on it. The Apprentice, a biopic following Donald Trump's early years, has failed to be a critical and commercial success. That happens. But is it because the film is bad? Not really, no. It's good! Cliched, yes, but good. Jeremy Strong and Sebastian Stan are fantastic actors who elevate a mediocre script and so-so direction from Ali Abbasi. You could do a lot worse with your time then see this one.
