The World Reacts to Sinwar's Death

World leaders including the US vice-president, Kamala Harris, the Israeli prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, and the French president, Emmanuel Macron, have spoken after the death of the Hamas leader, Yahya Sinwar.

Harris described Sinwar as the mastermind of the 7 October attack, while Netanyahu said Hamas would no longer rule Gaza, and that the residents could finally break free from its tyranny. Macron said Sinwar's death was a turning point and a military success for Israel.
