13th Sunday in Ordinary Time Year B Sermon

After the last couple of weeks, where we compared the two times Jesus fed the crowds, and how twice on the Sea of Galilee Jesus proved his power over the winds and waves, it isn’t surprising to find that in today’s readings, Mark has included two blind and two deaf healings in his Gospel. And what is fascinating is how they are all interconnected to prove his thesis and give this deeper message than what is seen on the surface of the physical healings, and it’s unexpected conclusion.
