M1A1 Abrams Tanks being used in Afghanistan

Marine Corps tanks recently arrived in Helmand Province, Afghanistan to assist in the counterinsurgency mission. They will add to the infantryman's tool kit while on patrol by providing fire support and mobility in areas a standard truck can not go. This is the first time tanks have been in Afghanistan since the beginning of Operation Enduring Freedom.
