One year has passed since Hamas’s surprise Saturday, October 7th, 2023 attack on Israel, where 1,200 men, women and children were killed. The year since then has been defined both by global concern over Israel’s response in Gaza and by concern that the conflict might spill over into a wider regional war.

With a majority of Americans supporting U.S. involvement until the hostages are returned, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed to continue Israel’s fighting on all fronts.
