Here is the picture I want you see.
We hear so much to malign God’s Name.
How he was was a vengeful God in the Old Testament.
Here in this short utterance of a blessings upon the congregation.

The Lord bless you, and keep you [protect you, sustain you, and guard you];

The Lord make His face shine upon you [with favor],
And be gracious to you [surrounding you with lovingkindness];

•Listen to what God told Moses to tell Arron to say.
God will Protect you, God will Sustain you and God will Guard you.
A prayer nearly the same as in the 23rd Psalm verse 1. “God is” always in the present tense, in the first person.

•God further says, I’m putting a dome. A canopy over you in which I Am surrounding you with My Light.

The Lord lift up His countenance (face) upon you [with divine approval],
And give you peace [a tranquil heart and life].’

•This is the way it was taught to me.
The Lord lifts up the face of the prayerful penitent.
As Lord is lifting up his Child’s face.
The Father God gets down low and smiles up with Divine Approval, which gives everyone in attendance peace.
All is well. The Smile of God is upon us.
