German MEP Christina Anderson makes some pretty bold statements, doesn’t she? The idea that we’re on the brink of totalitarianism is definitely a strong one. When she talks about the need for control over beliefs, thoughts, and actions, it raises a lot of eyebrows.

It’s hard not to feel a bit uneasy when we see increasing government oversight and restrictions on freedoms. Many people share her concern that we’re inching closer to a world where individual liberties are compromised. But then again, others argue that measures are necessary for safety and stability.
