The Hyperion sled concept, often imagined as a near-supersonic or supersonic ground transport, would reach extreme speeds for rapid transportation or testing applications.

Designed to potentially exceed 1,000 miles per hour (1,609 kilometers per hour), the Hyperion sled could travel at nearly Mach 1.3, or 1.3 times the speed of sound, depending on environmental conditions.
