Jose Padilla grew up near the United States bomb testing site in San Antonio, NM.

In 1945, while riding with one of his buddies, the then nine year old Jose heard a loud explosion off in the distance.

The two kids believed that it must have been another bomb detonation,
but this was different.

There was a mushroom cloud in the sky. If anything, there was just this stationary blob in the sky.
