Best PRS Finish Yet!! 2nd Place - 3 Points Behind 1st!!

Well, I am getting closer! I finished tied for 2nd place at last weekend's PRS match! I am very happy with this. I was 3 points behind First, 4 more hits and I could have won this match!! I am fired up and excited.

As you learn in the video, I had my worse performance on the tires stage! Of course, I am upset with myself for that. I put in some practice on this type of stage after building my own tire stage at my range. I was good on time for getting to the positions and having time to get all the shots off, but my wind was off and I could not see where my misses were impacting. So I did not make proper corrections on this stage. All the other stages I scored at least half the possible points, most of them closer to 70-80 percent, so if I had been on with my wind call here, I may have got 4 hits and actually won this whole match!! Very frustrating to say the least. But, I know that I am getting better at this and just need to focus in on the wind reading. I know I am getting better at it with time, but I need to speed up this process, lol.

My next big goal is to find a way to train myself reading the wind. I need to know better how to tell while on the clock when the speed and direction shifts on me from my initial reading when I use my Kestrel. When I can see my misses, I am better at correcting for the following shots now, but at ranges like this where misses disappear into trees and I have no visual clues, I just don't know what to do. So, next I will be thinking up a wind practice scenario and focus in on learning this better. I think once I get more confident with wind, I will be getting closer to banking my first overall win!
