Western media did their best to ignore the BRICS summit, but a NATO member joining and an EU and NATO member looking set to join had them turning up the heat. British Sky News presenters and BBC ‘journalists’ went scurrying around the conference looking to embarrass prominent westerners for being there. Try as they might though to paint Russia as some kind of authoritarian tyranny, they can’t get round the fact that while they are freely permitted to ‘bristle with hostility’, 20 metres from the Russian president, Russian journalists are banned from stepping foot in democratic Britain. #BRICS2024 #No2Nato
