How to Record a Second Audio Track for Your Microphone in RECentral

How to record a separate audio track for your microphone when recording gameplay with AVerMedia RECentral. 👍

By default, if you use a mic with RECentral, your commentary/talking will be recorded to a single audio track that also contains the audio from the game.

This is fine if you don't want to edit it later, but if you do want to edit your gaming videos you won't be able to control your commentary since the audio is baked-in with the game audio - in a single stereo track.

However, RECentral has an option to record a second, separate audio file that only contains your voice/mic.

To use it, all you have to do is open the Mixer, and click the 'MP3' option for your microphone.

Then, after recording, you will get a video file that contains the game and game audio only, and a separate mp3 file that ONLY contains your voice.

So if you want to remove some words, or adjust the volume or mix of your voice track - you can do that easily in your NLE (video editor)

I use the paid version of Davinci Resolve to edit videos, but there is also a free version that will do 99% of what you need (except export HDR in mp4)

I currently use the AVerMedia Live Gamer Ultra 2.1 to record gameplay from an Xbox Series X.
