Cleaning Feathers: A Quick How-To

Here's a quick video on how to clean feathers you find, possibly from hunting, or that are gifts from your angels and guides. The general rule of thumb to make sure you kill any mites or germs on the feathers it is suggested to freeze them for 24-48 hours, let them thaw and then re-freeze them before a final thaw and cleaning. If you don't want to use isopropyl alcohol you can use white vinegar, I think canning grade is the 5% but that still doesn't seem right. Regardless, it should be enough, to mix with water and in some cases you can use and additive of essential oils like thyme, rosemary and maybe peppermint. (In some cases you might even be able to use these on living birds, just double check that.)
What you need:
At least 3 containers one for the your sterilizing agent, one for soap and water and one to rinse the feathers off.
White Vinegar
Essential Oil of your choice: thyme, rosemary, peppermint. (You can pick others but you have to make sure they have anti-bacterial properties.)
Water
Soap.
Newspaper, or something to rest your feathers on to dry them.
You may also need something gentle that can be used to delicately scrub the feathers.
