The Immune Boosting Role of Estrone E1 and Estradiol E2 in the Menstrual Cycle and Hormone Replaceme
In this video, we explore the fascinating link between the hormones Estrone (E1) and Estradiol (E2) and their impact on the immune system, especially through the Th1 immune response. Estradiol, produced during days 7–14 of the menstrual cycle, primes the immune system to protect the uterus from bacteria when cervical fluids become more fluid. Later in the cycle, from days 21–28, estrone takes over if pregnancy hasn’t occurred, stimulating the immune system to shed the uterine lining, leading to menstrual bleeding.

We also discuss the effects of Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT), where constant estradiol exposure can lead to non-resolving inflammation and an increased risk of autoimmune conditions. Discover the complex ways these hormones regulate immune health and what it means for women’s overall well-being.
