Often described as the Goddess of Goth.
The Banshees along with The Cure, Joy Division, Killing Joke and Bauhaus pioneered the genre of Goth or proto-Gothic rock and sometimes referred to as DarkWave. Their debut album from 1978 is considered the first alt-rock album. Personally, I think that Velvet Underground had a lot to do with it.
Either way, Siouxsie was ahead of her time, she combined her beauty, grace and talent to influence countless others who still follow in her footsteps.
