When "BECAUSE I SAID SO" is an appropriate response to "WHY"? Defiance in children!

Old school parents knew what to do when a defiant child asked "WHY?" But in today's progressive parenting world a defiant child can challenge parental authority and the parent is supposed to try to convince the child to obey.

This is an unhealthy and imbalanced dynamic between the parent and the child and leads to conflict and turmoil that is unnecessary and harmful to the relationship.

When a child understands that asking a question is totally ok, but defying a parent is not, the conflict ends and the relationship is built as it should be.
