#445 Tariffs or the FAIRtax

On several occasions, Donald Trump has said he would like to eliminate the income tax system and use tariffs as the primary means of funding the government. While it’s encouraging to see a major party Presidential candidate embrace the idea of getting rid of the income tax, are tariffs an appropriate replacement?
