Chapter 7 An uneasy revelation : The Immaculate Is Less Than Immaculate

Months later, Kelly gives birth to a baby girl, and Josh visits, still confused. Father McCaffrey, sensing something ancient in the child, acknowledges Josh as the father and accepts the idea of an immaculate conception. He has no issue with the notion that a messianic child could be female, while Kelly avoids confronting her past. Despite the mystery, McCaffrey believes the child is destined for something extraordinary.
