OP2411-08-6A And OP2411-08-6B
Operations staff for 2nd Battalion, Chernarus 17th Separate Light Rifle Brigade, received a warning order from 17th Brigade intelligence staff that the separatists had taken over the village of Rylovo in Bekatov.
According to the data provided, the separatists had brought with them Russian speaking mercenaries who were apparently tasked with detaining civilians that the enemy commander suspected would cause trouble. The enemy civilian criminal commanders included one unidentified male suspect, one unidentified female minder, and a small security detail. The civilians who were commanding the separatist group which captured the village were marked for elimination.
The tactical plan for the assault on the village of Rylovo was for 2nd Squad and 3rd Squad to dismount their vehicles to the southwest of the village, as Command Squad dismounted directly to the south. Scout 1 BRDM was ordered to move towards the western section of the village only to be fired on and destroyed by a pair of enemy MRAPs. This complicated the maneuver of Command Squad, which was forced to maneuver across the fields of fire of the two MRAPs. Nearly half of Command Squad was eliminated before 2nd Squad could arrive, with Scout 2 BRDM to eliminate the two technicals.
Command Squad which also doubles as the task force assault element, advanced against Russian MVD special Forces, Wagner Group operators, and local militia, until they arrived at the location where the civilian criminal command operatives were staying. However, Command Squad was unable to locate the female minder.
Commander took possession of a number of documents on the person of the civilian criminal command operative. Realizing that an enemy counter attack was probably developing to the north, task Force commander ordered a complete withdrawal from the village.
Much of the friendly infantry managed to withdraw from the village, and headed back to base without additional casualties.
Field counts of enemy losses included one Humvee MRAP, and one heavy machine gun technical.
Losses were moderate. Scout one BRDM, and one BRDM AT vehicle were destroyed. One Mi-24 gunship was shot down. Command Squad lost five and 2nd Squad lost four.
Analyzing the documents seized from the person of the civilian criminal commander, intelligence staffs for Battalion and Brigade concluded that the takeover of Rylovo was a subsidiary operation to a much larger operation involving the capture of the village of Gavrilovka. Operations staff for both headquarters ordered the assembly of a fresh task force assigned with the task of preventing the takeover of the village of Gavrilovka.
In the new operation (OP2411-08-6B) the tactical plan for the defense of Gavrilovka was for every unit to line up on the Northern edge of the village from east to west. Command Squad dug in at its location and awaited the attacks of enemy forces.
Enemy infantry attacks came from the northeast and the northwest. Commander ordered artillery on several locations against advancing enemy infantry in the northwest, firing four separate artillery missions. Artillery missions also were fired twice on the northeastern direction.
From the northwest, Russian MVD special forces troops and Russian militia attacked, but were driven back by accommodation of rifle fire from 3rd Squad, and from Scout 2 BRDM.
In preparation to return to base, Commander ordered number of artillery missions especially in the northwest as defensive measures as our troops were withdrawn from Gavrilovka.
Field counts of enemy losses included five UAVs.
Losses were light. 3rd Squad lost one.
In the defensive operation at Gavrilovka, artillery took a strong hand in preventing enemy forces from capturing the village, preventing separatist forces from getting even within 500 m of the village. It is uncertain how much infantry the enemy lost in their attack on Gavrilovka, but it is certain they were hurt and they were driven back mostly by artillery.
