Former Cheboygan man dies in prison.

The Cheboygan man convicted in Wisconsin for the murder of his wife in 1975 has died in prison. Richard Pierce 86, who was convicted in 2022 for murder of his wife, Carol Jean. Pierce was charged in 2018. Investigators say the couple was planning to move from Sturgeon Bay to Cheboygan around the time she
disappeared. Her body has never found. Pierce was sentenced to life in prison
