Feds Take Over the Texas Grid! Independence Comes to an End!

National outlets of the MainStream Media - and even some federal politicians - gloated when the U.S. Department of Energy announced in October the new Southern Spirit Transmission Line project, which will connect Texas to the southeastern U.S. markets for the first time. They chortled that the "federal takeover" of Texas' independent power grid had begun.
They didn't read the fine print...
