When sinners have a chance they will try to murder God. The knowledge of God (along with his eternal power) is immediately known to all men by the revelation of his works in creation. (Rom.1:19-21, Psa.19:1-3) The problem is that “they did not like to retain God in their knowledge” (Rom.1:28) “they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the Lord” (Prv.1:29) and “they are all under sin”. (Rom.3:9) As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one. (Rom.3:10-18) They are haters of God (Rom.1:30) and thus murderers of God (1 Jn.3:15, Jam.4:4, Jn.8:40, 58-9, 3:19-20). They hate and therefore deny his particular existence. Thus when they speak of a God you are speaking of a figment of your imagination. You are doing exactly as Paul stated- they “changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man” and again “changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator” (Rom.1:23,25). You are rejecting his revelation, denying his existence and creating in his place a god in your heart that is more appealing and desirable because it is like you (Ezek.14:3-4, 8:12). You then become the prophet of this god knowing what he will and won’t do; what he likes and dislikes, delivering his commandments. Now imagine that the God of scripture is real and he says that he is immediately known to all people from his creation to the degree “that they are without excuse” (Rom.1:20). And you, his creature, deny his existence, call him a liar in that you declare his revelation is not clear and that you do have an excuse. But yet you do not seek him to find out the knowledge of the holy, rather you employ your energies and time in gratifying your lusts, defiling your body, mind and conscience (Rom.1:24-32, Tit.1:15) and go whoring after devils (Lev.17:7,Psa.106:37). Which is to say you permanently alter yourself to the negative after having been given by him invaluable resources such as your eyes, your speech, your mind, love, life, time, hearing, tasting, feeling, beauty. Were you thankful to him? No (Rom.1:21), you denied his existence and stamped out every mention of him, turning your ear at every thought of him and thereby becoming forever his enemy.

Regardless of what accusations are thrown at the bible, when you let it speak for itself and evaluate it as a philosophical system or worldview it alone provides a cogent and consistent system of justifying thought. And if you reject it you have no basis for epistemology or laws of thought, math or otherwise.

Unbelievers when they try to reason with us to abandon Christianity or question the reasonableness of scripture are assuming a view of reality that is anti-Christ. That logic, math, science, morals and our minds all exist without any reference to God. This is hostile to the Christian God and we should address it in that way. Matthew 6:24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon. James 4:4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.

God reveals himself through his creation. (Psa.19:1-3, 33:15, Rom.1:19-20) The fear of the LORD acknowledges the uniformity of nature as being a product of his word and wisdom and thus is the beginning of wisdom and knowledge (Psa.111:10; Prv.1:7, 9:10). And likewise the natural revelation confirmed in the hearts and consciences of men. (Rom.2:14-15)

The problem of evil is the problem for unbelievers not evidence against the Christian God. There is no objective ground for good and evil unless the Christian worldview is correct.

You will note very quickly when evangelizing the lost that they believe things they assert on no authority other than themselves. They claim things even about God on their personal preference and talk like they are prophets of their god. Point this out so they can see the folly of throwing claims around with no evidence or authority.

Don't let your opponent maintain unjustified assumptions. All unbelievers have a bundle of incoherent positions which they slothfully assume and never feel like they need to justify them. Our job in delivering them is to point this out and call them to repent.

The nature of the debate for Christianity and the bible is a clash of entire systems of thought. Everyone thinks about their worldview assuming their worldview. This is not the the same as the simple begging the question fallacy. But you must assume the worldviews in clash and see where they are internally consistent and only Christianity turns out to be.

The claims we are making are not that unbelievers can't think or calculate or add, but only that these actions would not be possible unless the Christian God exists.

If there is such a thing as ‘evidence’ then there must exist logical laws. For the nature of the evidence must reasonably support and not contradict the belief. Also these laws of logic would have to be public or objective so others could arrive at the same conclusions. These laws of logic (and mathematics) aren’t physical and bound by geography as everyone can use them, even people in the past or future can accept the same evidence and logic doesn’t change from time to time or from person to person. Plus it is also evident that your evidence is not expected to randomly and sporadically change into something else. You expect uniformity in nature and physical laws and that the laws of math and logic will consistently apply to the world. Thus evidence for anything assumes the Christian worldview.

Everyone has a final authority they appeal to for truth. Most people however are not aware of what theirs is.

Logic is absolute, eternal, abstract (not physical), universal and unchanging; reflecting God's nature and thinking, and how we must think (Isa.1:18, Job 38:36, Prv.2:6). One cannot know truth apart from logic. Logic within the correct worldview will always lead to the truth (Prv.8:6-9). He made us in his image to reason with him (Gen. 1:26-28, Psa.33:14-5, Zec.12:1). God puts wisdom in our hearts and minds and obligates us to be rational. Sin and pride cause men to err in their thinking (Eph.2:3,4:18, Tit.1:15, Prv.13:10). Right & wrong, good & evil in our postmodern culture reduces to 'I like this but not that.' If moral laws are not derived from the nature of the God of scripture they have no objectivity, they are strictly subjective opinion.

The foundation of all thought (epistemology) is the Christian God. His attributes of Omniscience, Omnipresence, Omnipotence, Eternality and Immutability provide the preconditions for logical and mathematical and scientific laws. There is no substitute. Psalm 111:10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever. Proverbs 1:7 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction. Proverbs 9:10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.

The evidence for all claims is evaluated by one's presupposed worldview, mainly regarding epistemology i.e., laws of logic, science. This should not be overlooked, rather it should be challenged that only Christianity provides the foundation of thought. All other worldviews succumb to incoherence when evaluated on their own terms. The scriptures provide us with a worldview that validates its claims by the "impossibility of the contrary". Meaning, the doctrines (first theology) in the bible are true because the denial of them leads to contradiction and irrationality. Biblical Theology is the foundation of all rationality and thought.

The Bible should be approached as a worldview or a philosophical system. Not simply as a collection of ancient documents to be judged by some OTHER worldview or philosophical system.
