Israel's warfare methods in Gaza consistent with 'genocide': UN special committee

A new report by a UN Special Committee has found Israel's warfare methods to be "consistent with the characteristics of genocide", including the use of starvation as a weapon of war. It accuses Israel of creating a "lethal mix of crises" that will inflict severe harm on generations to come.

Al Jazeera's Gabriel Elizondo has the latest at the United Nations headquarters in New York.

Rami Khouri, a distinguished fellow at the American University of Beirut, said that while the report was unlikely to push the international community "to do anything practical or even just symbolic", its findings will boost legal actions against Israel going forward.
