Roe v. Wade fell because of radical pro-aborts—not conservatives

It is so dishonest to frame Roe v. Wade as some type of compromise and to suggest conservatives and pro-life advocates are the extreme ones for attempting to knock it down—and ultimately being successful at it.

First off, Roe wasn’t a compromise. It was a decidedly pro-abortion decision that left *some* room for states to restrict abortion later in pregnancy *if they so chose*—but it did not require them too. Roe did nothing to protect life at any stage of pregnancy.

Secondly, and perhaps most importantly, Roe was an unconstitutional decision. It was a handful of unelected judges enacting legislation for the nation. It wasn’t decided democratically or through the will of the people—and we’ve been paying for it ever since.

OF COURSE conservatives and pro-life advocates weren’t going to leave well enough alone. It wasn’t pro-life; it wasn’t a compromise; it wasn’t even democratic. It turns out that one branch of government overstepping its bounds and enacting legislation for the nation, has consequences.

Decisions need to be arrived at constitutionally and democratically.
