Companies receive state dollars.

Five companies across Michigan received a round of investments from the
Michigan Outdoor Innovation Fund. The fund targets start-ups that boost the
growing outdoor recreation industry and promote sustainability. Companies
typically will get 50 to 100 thousand dollars from the fund. The goal of these
investments is to nurture local ideas and to enrich the outdoor aspects of the
