Jason Schreier Deletes Post After 'Veilguard' Player Count Disaster
Bloomberg's Jason Schreier Deletes Post After Failed 'Dragon Age: The Veilguard' Flex
In a strange attempt to "own the chuds," Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier posted about Dragon Age: The Veilguard reaching the top of Steam’s Top Sellers list with a peak of 58,958 players on its launch day. He couldn’t resist adding, “Go woke, go bro—err, top the charts,” claiming his goal was to enjoy the “chuds getting dunked on.”
Schreier continued, saying he didn’t even like the game much but took satisfaction in “seeing you chuds get dunked on.” He further insisted that diversity and inclusion efforts have no impact on game sales, trying to use The Veilguard's early numbers as proof.
But soon after, Schreier’s posts disappeared—likely due to The Veilguard’s player count rapidly sinking. From a launch peak of 89,418, the game’s concurrent player count has now plummeted nearly 43% to 50,938 in less than a week. Estimated sales aren’t impressive either, ranging between 184,900 and 603,400 copies—a shaky start for a game hyped to be an industry hit.
Schreier may have been a bit too quick on the “dunk” attempt this time.
