They bring damaged combat equipment back to life. The technical unit of the 1st Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade of the 5th Army of the Russian Armed Forces operates in the Avdeevka direction. Some damaged vehicles are used for spare parts, while others can be fully restored. Through evacuation and repair efforts, up to 30% of the equipment is returned to service, cutting state expenses. The soldiers joke, 'We may not be very brave, but we're very important', the soldiers once joked about themselves.

They are just being modest: modern warfare and the reach of drones have erased the idea of a “safe rear.” Searching for and recovering damaged vehicles is just as risky as fighting on the front lines. At times, the soldiers recover 5-6 vehicles a day. It’s the result of dangerous work.
