Repurposing Ambassador Hotel Kaohsiung 🇹🇼 (2023-12) {aerial}

The Hotel and its 6,698 m² plot will be repurposed. The hotel was inaugurated in 1981 and closed 2023-01-31. The 21-story landmark hotel is located along the Love River. Reportedly, the current hotel building will be replaced by two residential towers (which will include a hotel as well), rising to 58 floors (231 m) and 52 floors (209 m). The towers will be connected by a sky-bridge. The taller of the two high rises will overtake Kaohsiung's 'Chang-gu World Trade Center' (222 m) to become the third tallest skyscraper in the city, after the '85 Sky Tower' (347 m) and 'The One' (267 m).
Three firms join forces to repurpose the Ambassador Hotel Kaohsiung (高雄國賓飯店): Continental Development Corp (大陸建設), Formosan Rubber Group Inc (厚生公司) and Ambassador Hotels and Restaurants Ltd (國賓大飯店).
