Investigators are looking into 49 year old Vem Miller. He was taken into custody Saturday at a security checkpoint near the Trump rally. In Miller's car. Riverside County Sheriff's deputies found a loaded handgun, shotgun ammunition and fake documents, including passports. They say the inside of his car was in disarray and that he had a fake license plate. Miller told deputies he was a journalist, but it's unclear if he had credentials. He's charged with two misdemeanor gun offenses and was released on $5,000 bail. He's described as being part of a group called sovereign citizens, which doesn't believe in the authority of federal government,

As of now, investigators say there is no evidence of Miller making threats against the former president. A reporter at the press conference told the sheriff she talked to Miller, he told her the accusations aren't true and suggested he was a Trump supporter. Election documents show he ran for office in Nevada as a Republican, and of course, law enforcement is on heightened alert after multiple incidents this year. Last month, a suspect was indicted after he allegedly stalked staked out Trump in Florida, and roughly three months ago, Trump was shot in the ear during an assassination attempt in Pennsylvania. The suspect in this case will face a judge in January.
